Can you support Chesterfield PSC/STW group in either of the following ways:
1. On Sunday April 15th 2012, volunteers from across the UK will be joining hundreds of international supporters from across the world, attempting to openly travel to Palestine. This initiative, challenging the oppressive Israeli occupation which controls all movement in and out of Palestine, is supported by people of conscience around the world in the declaration below. Anthony from Chesterfield PSC will be taking part,
People who support PSC will be at Manchester Airport, Terminal One on Sunday 15th April, from 8 a.m. to wish the Welcome Palestine volunteers well on their journey. The check in for their flight to Tel Aviv is 8 a.m. and their flight is due to leave at 10 a.m.
If, as happened to some people last year in France and elsewhere, any attempt is made by the airline to stop them joining the flight, then there will be a protest, until they are allowed to fly.
If you can, please go to Manchester airport at 8.00 a.m. on Sunday 15th April to support and send off the Welcome Palestine group.
2. There is a national attempt to go through the channels of the Co-operative society to try and stop the Co-op trading with Israeli companies that are exploiting the occupation of the West Bank. Motions are being put to all of the regional AGMs to ask the Co-op to cease trading with these companies.
Chesterfield falls into the Northern Region of the Co-op, which has 2 meetings in the spring:
Saturday 28th April at 1.00 p.m. in Leeds at the Hilton Hotel (next to the station)
Wednesday 2nd May at 7.15 p.m. in Newcastle at the Centre for Life (near the station)
All members of the Co-op are eligible to go to the meetings. If you are a member of the Co-op and can go to either of these meetings it would be very helpful to go and vote for the motion.
If you would like more information about either of these activities please email firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone Sue on 01246 271650
