East Midlands Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR CHILDREN AS THE VICTIMS OF WAR
Monday 4 June 2012
A Vigil will be held outside the Rolls Royce Raynesway Factory, Derby, between 3 – 4pm
on Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday Monday
to mark the United Nations International Day for the child victims of war – the dead, the maimed, the orphaned and the traumatised – suffering because of the wars prosecuted in foreign Countries in the name of Queen and Country and the export of arms to warring peoples for profit.
Please wear black.
East Midlands CND holds monthly demonstrations outside the Rolls Royce Raynesway factory, where the reactors and fuel rods for the Trident and Astute submarines are manufactured, to protest against Government plans to maintain and replace its nuclear weapons system.
‘War violates every right of a child – the right to life, the right to be with family and community, the right to health, the right to the development of the personality and the right to be nurtured and protected. ….modern wars are exploiting, maiming and killing children more callously and more systematically than ever”
